Free Family Events this Weekend 5/1 - 5/2

Here are this weekend's free/cheap activities:

• On Saturday, 5/1, at 10 am, Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic will be teaching you how to make this cool School House (shown) in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Go here to sign up for the class at your local store. 
• Home Depot will also be holding a free How-To Workshop this weekend. On Saturday, 5/1, between 9 am and Noon, they will be holding hands-on sessions teaching you how to make a Picket Fence Planter. 
• It is the first weekend of the month, so that means Bank of America cardholders can get into more than 100 participating museums, zoos, science centers, botanical gardens, and more! Go here to see what is available in your area! 
• Michaels Craft Store will have two activities this weekend. On Saturday, 5/1, they will be having a Mother's Day Bead Event from 1-3pm. Between the hours of 1-2pm, they will be making Gem Earrings and between 2-3pm, learn to make a Glass Bead Bracelet. You will be able to your creation home to Mom for free! Then on Sunday, 5/2, from 1-3pm, purchase a mug with markers and decorate it at the store for Mom during the Mother's Day Mug Event. Michaels will be having craft events for Mom all week and I will post the entire list soon. 
• Lakeshore Learning Center will teach you how to make a Shady Sun Visor on Saturday from 11am-3pm.
• May 1st is free Comic Book Day. Head to your nearest comic book store to get free comics! My husband is looking forward to doing this with my son! They should have several to choose from so that you can get something that is acceptable for any age group. Go here to see my post on this event and to get more information. 

Free/Cheap Eats:

• Rita's Orlando locations are offering a free regular size Italian Ice on Satuday, May 1st. I recommend calling your local store to make sure they are participating. (Thanks, Who Said Nothing in Life is Free!)
• May 1st is National Burger Day! If you live near a Back Yard Burger, on May 1st, the first 100 people to visit a participating location will get a free burger! Again, call your local restaurant to make sure they are participating.
